Clinical supervision
Supervision is a vital part of the helping professions, such as psychological therapy, counselling, psychology, nursing and so on. It is also highly recommended, or in some cases required, by certain professional bodies to undertake regular supervision. In my opinion, supervision can be the most beneficial when it involves collaboration between supervisee and supervisor, which is what I aspire to work towards.
In my supervision practice, I aim to provide my supervisees with what I have found the most helpful in supervision over the years: focusing on client material and focusing on the relational aspects of therapy (e.g., how working with certain clients may impact on your life). I may draw on ideas from developmental approaches to supervision, as I find they help us with my supervisees to find a ‘tone’ that facilitates the process of understanding each other and the way we practice. Another approach I frequently use in my practice is the Seven-Eyed Model: I believe its structured nature can help us contextually better understand working with certain clients. Other approaches also influenced my supervision style during my training, such as focusing on the functions of supervision, as I find they could help identify the needs of supervisees.
I completed a Level 6 training course in Clinical Supervision, which was accredited by Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB).
I offer supervision online (e.g., via Microsoft Teams) and face-to-face. Please note, I provide face-to-face supervision from the Tunstall Primary Care Centre and the Blythe Bridge Primary Care Centre.
Depending on your supervision needs, I could offer you 1/1.5 hour long supervision sessions on a weekly/fortnightly/monthly basis.
The fee for online supervision is £60 for one hour, while for supervision face-to-face, it is £65 for one hour.
I understand that choosing a supervisor can be a daunting task in some cases, and I also acknowledge that having an initial contact could help both parties to make a better-informed decision regarding how they may ‘gel’. For this reason, I offer the option to supervisees to book in for a brief initial consultation online, free of charge.
You can contact me via phone, by using my contact form, and by sending me an email.
I look forward to hearing from you!
